At Griggs Plumbing, we are committed to making a positive impact in our community. On April 5th, we had the privilege of sponsoring and participating in “Foster the Family Florida’s” inaugural Cornhole & Coffee Tournament at Bethel Mennonite Church in Sarasota. This event aimed to raise awareness and support for foster families in Sarasota County and surrounding areas.

“Foster the Family Florida“ provides immediate support and ongoing care for families in Sarasota, Pinellas, DeSoto, and Manatee counties. Their initiatives include delivering foster care Packages filled with essentials to families welcoming foster children, hosting monthly support groups and training sessions, and organizing respite events for children. These efforts are crucial, especially considering the foster care crisis in Florida, where over 23,500 children are in foster care, but there are only about 9,200 foster homes available.

Several of our employees attended the tournament, enjoying friendly competition and connecting with others who share our passion for supporting foster families. This cause is especially close to our hearts because the Griggs family knows firsthand the beauty and challenges of foster care and adoption—our own family is built through the love of adoption. We understand the importance of providing love, stability, and resources to children in need, and we are proud to support organizations like Foster the Family Florida that make a tangible difference in our community.
